I just bought an akai MPK mini mk3, installed MPC beats, and noticed that even though the mpk mini is lighting up, MPC beats is treating it as if it's not plugged in. It wont control anything in the program. I've followed the startup wizard and chosen Akai Mpk Mini 3 (which it was defaulted to, so it makes me think it sees the controller...)

When I go to Edit > preferences > midi/sync
there is nothing listed there
Both the "midi" and "input ports" are blank

From what I've seen watching tutorials, the mpk mini should be here, but it's not.

Can anyone help me please? I just want to hit a pad/ key on the controller and hear a sound come out. But it does nothing
