Hi all,
I am new to MPC Live and MPC Software please bare with me.

I wanted some new sounds for my MPC Live 2 so I copped some of the expansions packs on sale at Akai "The Sounds of Summer" sale.

Some expansions (such as "Hook City" Trap or "Melodic Horizon" the downloaded files include a .exe file and a .pkg file. I installed the exe file and MPC Software recognized that expansion. My question is what do I do with the .pkg file?

Other expansions such as Velvet or Mini Grand include a .dmg file. What is the use of that file or do I have to download it?

Last question: would I be able to use those expansions in standalone mode?

Any insight is appreciated!

When you're in the MPC Software, go to TOOLS and then EXPANSION MANAGER. Pick the one you want to use on your Live and then click EXPORT. Save it onto your SSD, SD card, or USB stick. And then pop that into the Live and you should see it.

FILE-EXPORT-EXPANSION is another way to get to that same menu from the software.
