Problems with Song Mode

Looked at a Beats Academy youtube and it suggested it was well intuitive. Just hit the appropriate pad then insert and boom! section of the song added.

When I try that I struggle, whatever sequence I am on my main menu, only that pad will flash green when I go to song mode and subsequently I can only get that sequence in the song. I hit other pads or hold them down, they have a constant yellow light but the sequence pad keeps flashing green. I hit insert and I just get the sequence in the song. Really frustrating. Just started this morning

Any ideas?

In song mode, press OVERDUB and then you can hit the pads relating to the sequences you wish to insert.

I never figured out how to use it either and had given up more or less. Just checked the manual (page 286) and it turns out you first need to press Rec or Overdub. Makes sense... Glad to find how it works now.

Edit: Aargh, Tutor beat me to it by a minute.

Or just use the 'insert' button and add them manually..
