Does anyone know if all the sounds that are on the product registration page are already loaded on the MPC Live 2 or are the banks that are on the site extras that need to be downloaded and installed?

Thanks

There are two places you might put expansions: On the MPC removable storage, and/or on your computer (i.e.for use with the MPC Software).

MPC Software
When you install the MPC Software on your computer, you get no expansion included (though they show picture of them that do not exist yet). The size of the MPC Software is like 500MB and the size of an Expansion is like 4GB, so we know there are no expansions on the software.

MPC Hardware
You get a few included on the hardware (i.e. clips, instruments, and vault 2). Others you will need to download such as the "F9" pack, which should be available in your Akai account.

You can check the expansions you have installed currently from "Home > Browse" then click Expansions. Finally, click on the expansion pictures you see and look at the path above. The ones that are included will be on "Internal".

When you add your own, you should place them on an SSD, SD, or USB thumb drive (SSD is the best performance of course, then SD, then USB). Create a folder on this device called "Expansions" (on the root) and then add expansion there.

Check out the MPC Software for an easy way to export. You just install all of the desired expansions in the software or MPC plugin, and then export. Check YouTube for instructions since this technique has been around a while and is quite convenient.

Unrelated Note: You get enough free expansions that you do not need to go buy any yet. When you do, they only give you seven days to download it (some give 30 days), so it is best to know what you are doing first.

PS - Even though you already have it on the hardware, you should download "Vault 2" from your account so you can install it on the "MPC Software". You would download the "OS" version appropriate for you.

They are not all loaded onto the MPC for software or standalone mode. A handful of things like templates and some smaller expansions are loaded, but it is worth taking your time to go through and add in the additional content to your MPC or Software.
