I was looking for a way to have count-in when using the looper in sync mode with a sequence playing, without having to go and enable count-in during playback (which I don't normally use). I realized that I can do this by selecting an empty track and hitting record instead of play on the MPC, after arming the looper.
If I understand it correctly, the MPC just goes into record mode without recoding anything - unless you have armed audio recording somewhere, I guess - and you can use the looper as normal. Is this correct or am I messing things up somewhere else?
If you are wondering why not just use overdub, I am recording distorted rhythm guitar loops, so I want to be playing before recording starts in order to be seamless, and loop recording has to cut off exactly on the beat so overdub won't work.
A foot controller to arm overdub would be nice! I am guessing that I can do that with MIDI on the MPC One - I will look into it. I am a new user in case you couldn't tell already!
