Recently, my 6-year-old slathered by MPC Live screen, buttons, and pads with shea butter. I've worked on all of my MPC's of the past (2000XL, 2500, 4000) as far as replacing electronics and modifying them. I figured opening up my Live, removing the buttons and pads for a de-greasing would be a walk in the park... I put it all back together and upon power up my screen does not show any visuals. It glows, so the backlight works and it responds to touch. I was able to put it into controller mode by tapping where I remember the buttons to be on the screen.

Any idea what could be going on? Maybe a component went bad or a cable isn't seated correctly? Any help would be appreciated.

There's a Brown-ish LCD Ribbon Cable that's probably not Seated properly. Open it back up and check that out

There are 2 brown-ish ribbon cables, the longer/wider one goes between the pcb board over the pad sensors. I’ve tried that a few ways. The only difference it’s made is either the backlight of the screen glows or it doesn’t depending on how I have either side flipped. The other has a chip on it, I’ve reseated that one multiple times, no difference. The only thing I haven’t tried is turning the small ribbon with the chip upside down.
