Right out the gate no 16 q-links.

Yes originally I thought That 16 q links should be standard but after using the MPC one for a while I’ve not really missed them TBH

I’ve been using an external Novation Remote Zero SL alongside the one to give me more hands on control and it’s been just as useful

You can bank through them though judging by the box, so four physical encoders, but sixteen virtually. Might actually be a semi-decent workflow to be honest.

But with that said, I'm really only interested in its potential as a controller until Akai sort out PDC on the modern MPC range.

Wait What? Do you mean "they gon port errythang ova" as in they're gonna bring all the AIR Virtual Instruments to standalone? And bring the new plugins from standalone to computers for DAW's? I really hope they do that! Structure and Xpand in standalone mode would be INCREDIBLE! I'm also curious about that right arrow on the screen of the MPC Key 61 in the leak pics. It implies that there should be another page of plugin's after the first 16. If they really did port the AIR Virtual Instruments over, it would make sense that they would be there.

June 23rd needs to hurry up and get here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question for anyone who ones a modern MPC like the Live or One. Is it possible to completely disable the led lights underneath the pads? Ive only used vintage MPCs which didn’t have those lights. I’ve never used a modern MPC. The lights under the pads really bother my eyes. I’m interested in buying the MPC Key 61, but if there’s no way to completely turn off the pad lights, it may be a deal breaker for me. Is it possible to completely disable the pad lights?

I don’t see the word “sampler” on that box. I’m assuming and hoping it still has the entire MPC sampling engine in there! Imagine if it didnt :-D

I hate that they give out the same plugs no matter how many different pieces of hardware you buy, how about a switch up?

Good observation, OTOC. It would be funny if they left out the sampler. I can’t see that happening. the word MPC has become synonymous for sampler/sequencer.

From the Box text:
"Legendary MPC Workflow"

With complete sarcasm:

"Only the 60, 60II and 3000 were legendary, everything else is just a cheap imitation!"

In the manual, look up 'pad color'. You can make it so there are no lights.
