Every time I or someone else here posts something that shows they are excited about this, someone else replies with some cynical negative take-down. If you don't like this thing, why are you here? I don't care if its "just an MPC with a keyboard and not enough outputs, and the instruments aren't as good as I want" - I WANT an MPC with a built in keyboard and 8/4/4 CV/Outs/Qlinks is perfect for me and most use cases. Kudos to Akai. I hope this product is a hit.

I think you guys have something weird in your mind.
Who's gonna change anything?
Who's complaining?
Who's saying how to use your energy?
I am starting to think that this forum is like the others.
Just crazy people addicted to new things that come out without any chance to debate about pros and cons.
Well, ok.
Have fun.

Folks can love or hate on the MPC Key 61 for all I care.

Personally I'm just happy to see them continue to add more platforms to the ecosystem, as it probably means we'll get to see at least another update or two with some possibly cool features for the X/Live/One. I've been more than happy with the product line since around 2.4, and all of the updates since (even with the added bugs) have still made this device something special in my eyes. I'm shocked that they were able to hit a $1900 price point, that just seems crazy to me, I've had my fair share of workstations before and I really would have expected $2500. And sure, the price explains why it is missing Q-Links, inputs and outputs... but I'm going to guess that they're going to sell these Key 61s rather quickly.

For anybody who gets the Key I hope you like it, as it looks like a serious piece of gear to make music with. Those who think it is dumb... well you're probably not the target market anyways. For whoever cares, stay frosty... or whatever it is the kids do these days.

:worthy: exactly.

I think this new keyboard product is great for the longevity of the recent MPC line. From the renaissance to where they are now in about a decade is really good progress in my opinion. I left after the 5000 went the maschine route like most and came back and got the renaissance. So like you I hope this product is a big hit because if it is, it means great things are coming.

Any idea of a release date yet?
I wish I hadn't just spent £900 on my live 2 now!! Would've much preferred a keyboard option, but hey, why not both?! Lol

Love the fact there's an internal psu too!

Guitar Center have it in stock and did say 6/23 about a month ago. Not sure if things changed, haven’t been back to ask.

Would be great if the keyboard is available at launch. Normally the wait is a few months.

I’m interested in this keyboard, but if I buy it I’ll have to live with the fact that it’s essentially just an MPC One with a midi controller attached. :Sigh:

Hansjib, how reliable is the Guitar Center 6/23 stockroom worker leak? Any chance you stop. Burger store for an update?

I hate there’s no spell correction on this. Hansjib, can you stop by Guitar Center for an update? I got my money ready to spend on the 23rd based on that Guitar Center employee rumor.

Hold on Tone. My money left my account already also but let's hold hands in prayer and purchase AFTER we hear the sounds are at least Fantom status. Now my boy from Stankonia is getting maybe 2 so I will have the answer THE HOUR OF RELEASE. This is too important to f*%@k up in the wake of Native Instruments PLAYBOX, Output Arcade or just KKS61 in general. My former co-worker at GC Pro ATL is STILL tight lipped!.....22....23rd!
