How would HDMI help if it's a touch-screen? Unless it's just for reference of view.

True, but we don’t need a new MPC for that..

Why? Don't you have your computer for that exact workflow? I read hdmi out mouse and keyboard support and I only see people wanting to go back to computer beatmaking...What's the difference with a computer then?
EDIT: Honestly curious why people want this.

LOL. Seriously, I guess people dont spend much time in Grid Edit. A mouse would make Grid Edit about 1000x faster considering the wonky touch response that takes 3-4 taps to select a note on screen, not to mention lassoing notes with the screen sliding all over the place. Considering how bloated the Track Mode screen is now showing the key ranges on it, a monitor would be rather nice to actually see everything without scrolling. You get a whopping 4 tracks on screen at once now in Track Mode, used to be double that. And Grid Edit on a 27" monitor, no explanation needed for that.

TT_Lab wrote:I know. Although I use grid edit, and I know it would be better with a mouse, is one of these things that separates, in my opinion, the hardware from the computer. In one way, I was happy when it was not there. And is the only part of the actual MPC screen experience that make it a PITA to use, for everything else the screen is not a struggle. I repeat IMO. Also, is the one bit of the MPC that feels more DAWy for me. Of course, Im not advocating against support of a mouse. If they support it great for everyone that miss it and want to use it. But at the same time, I believe I would be feeling like Im back on the computer, and for that I have a computer and a DAW that kill the MPC in every way, but not in being an MPC, I know you all know what I am refering to.
No offense, and sure, we all like different things and all but I'm pretty sure you're quite in the minority with that opinion.

LOL thats my job nowadays. Our touch screens (and Im assuming everybody else's) just use a USB cable for the touch side of things and an HDMI/DisplayPort for video. If you don't plug in the USB cable, its just a regular monitor. Plug in the USB cable and Windows/Linux sees a class compliant 'tablet device' on the computer along with it. MacOS, of course, needs drivers that Apple has made really difficult to get straightened out since Catalina. The latest ones use USB-C so only one cable for display/touch/power/etc and its all good. If they keep it mirrored it will be fine. Its when you use them as an 'extended' display things can get iffy. The 'tablet device' shows up as a separate component to the OS, so with multiple displays you have to configure the OS and tell it 'this is the screen I want the touch to react on'. They would need to add some settings for that stuff, like Windows "Tablet PC Settings" or the Mac's display prefs.
