What up ill green. How you be?

HDMI would be nice to attach any size screen. I don't like a small touch screen. I do that with my phone. I don't like touch screen when doing music. Don't wanna be hunched over neither. Plus getting that sweet crisp look is not bad at all.

Im light years ahead of Akai. 4gigs of ram? Haha lol  is laughable. 64/128 gigs ram for me. 2TB hard drive nothing less. 40 inch screen is where l am. :smoker:

My studio is blown out.

How would HDMI help if it's a touch-screen? Unless it's just for reference of view.

Why? Don't you have your computer for that exact workflow? I read hdmi out mouse and keyboard support and I only see people wanting to go back to computer beatmaking...What's the difference with a computer then?

EDIT: Honestly curious why people want this.

And what's the deal with MIDI keyboards? It's like people working ITB want to go back to hardware beat making

LOL. Seriously, I guess people dont spend much time in Grid Edit. A mouse would make Grid Edit about 1000x faster considering the wonky touch response that takes 3-4 taps to select a note on screen, not to mention lassoing notes with the screen sliding all over the place. Considering how bloated the Track Mode screen is now showing the key ranges on it, a monitor would be rather nice to actually see everything without scrolling. You get a whopping 4 tracks on screen at once now in Track Mode, used to be double that. And Grid Edit on a 27" monitor, no explanation needed for that.

Yeah as any tool a mouse option could be helpful. Particularly in Grid Edit. Same with monitor screen output. And even if I couldn't see a use for it myself I highly doubt I would have a problem with it being there for other users unless it added substantially to the costs of things, which I highly doubt could be the case. After all, as had been pointed out several times before by others, the more users the better if we value prolonged commitment from Akai.

Speaking of external monitor screens, a field I know nothing about whatsoever, are there connection standards that would allow for a touch screen to communicate back to the MPC so that you could use it as a complete replacement for the integrated one, meaning touching stuff on the external screen would control stuff on the MPC?

Grid edit is useless in its current form.
In MPC workflow is like running a marathon and stopping for a breath.

I know. Although I use grid edit, and I know it would be better with a mouse, is one of these things that separates, in my opinion, the hardware from the computer. In one way, I was happy when it was not there. And is the only part of the actual MPC screen experience that make it a PITA to use, for everything else the screen is not a struggle. I repeat IMO. Also, is the one bit of the MPC that feels more DAWy for me. Of course, Im not advocating against support of a mouse. If they support it great for everyone that miss it and want to use it. But at the same time, I believe I would be feeling like Im back on the computer, and for that I have a computer and a DAW that kill the MPC in every way, but not in being an MPC, I know you all know what I am refering to.

LOL thats my job nowadays. Our touch screens (and Im assuming everybody else's) just use a USB cable for the touch side of things and an HDMI/DisplayPort for video. If you don't plug in the USB cable, its just a regular monitor. Plug in the USB cable and Windows/Linux sees a class compliant 'tablet device' on the computer along with it. MacOS, of course, needs drivers that Apple has made really difficult to get straightened out since Catalina. The latest ones use USB-C so only one cable for display/touch/power/etc and its all good. If they keep it mirrored it will be fine. Its when you use them as an 'extended' display things can get iffy. The 'tablet device' shows up as a separate component to the OS, so with multiple displays you have to configure the OS and tell it 'this is the screen I want the touch to react on'. They would need to add some settings for that stuff, like Windows "Tablet PC Settings" or the Mac's display prefs.

Well there's a touchscreen there which you like using and there's a DAW like OS which you also seem happy with. Now, while workstations and grooveboxes has worked fine for 30 years without both of those things, what you don't like is the one thing that's actually a significant improvement over the traditional hardware sequencer, namely the vastly superior visuals of a DAW like sequencer? :hmmm: No offense, and sure, we all like different things and all but I'm pretty sure you're quite in the minority with that opinion.

I remember being a young gun against mouse support in the past but in the last couple years I can definitely see a benefit in grid edit. If somehow it was able to mirror the screen onto another I would be stoked on that too. I feel like its so easy to add its hard to believe they have not yet. Especially the mouse support.

HUBA if you think hes in the minority for wanting that feature, you have not been around here too long. Especially on those old Akai Forums. :Sigh:
People used to rant and rave for it on there before they shut it down.

I see. Cool. So as long as Akai provided both those ports and added the necessary settings then you could choose whether you'd want to connect a regular monitor or a touchscreen, yes? l could see some neat benefits with both, but I wouldn't want to buy a 27" touchscreen just to see things more clearly
