Hey all.

So I have a (hopefully easy fix) predicament at the moment trying to trigger a drum machine unlike any other I have used before.
Basically the machine has 8 parts but they are spread out randomly accross 3 octaves, so for example the kick is on C sharp 3 the snare on A 3 the hi hat on d 4 the Tom on c 5 and so on… how to go about mapping these to pads or do i need to either use a large midi keyboard or the step sequencer?
I see custom available but can’t figure how to cross different octaves? Wth?

Make a blank program template using 'MAIN > Program row pencil icon > Edit Pad Note Map', make sure you double tap and select the note you need for each pad rather than using the data wheel as each time you pass a note this way it has to re-assign another note to make way for it and it gets really messy.

alternatively you can open an XPM file in a text editor and manually customise the note mapping in the relevant area (the 'PadNoteMap' section near the end of the file)
