I was trying to update my MPC One from 2.10 to 2.11.4 using a connection to a MacBook Pro running MacOS 12.1. The update program recognized the MPC, showed the "Transferring Data to Device" image, then went to the window "Transferring 0%" and then got stuck. Eventually (after giving it several hours), it was obviously froze in the process. So, I force quit the app, switched out the USB cable, tried again, no luck. Now my MPC is in "Update" mode. Is there a way to reboot back into normal mode, since the update never really got going? Any other ideas short of "sending my MPC" to Akai? I did reach out to Akai on this, but haven't heard back from them.

You will need to put the MPC in controller update mode.

MPC One:

To put the MPC in Controller update mode:

Turn off your MPC and hold down the following buttons:

Full level + Browse + Pad Bank C and push the power button.

Keep holding them down until you're in controller update mode.

After this hook your MPC up to your computer and use the update for PC or MAC.

That's the problem. I put it in update mode, now it is stuck in update mode, and I am wondering if it is possible to get back to regular (working) mode?

If rebooting your mpc doesn’t work by holding down the power button for 10 seconds that might be the only way.

if its stuck in update mode after power cycling it means the root file system has problems or wasnt successfully installed.

your option now is to use the usb cable and computer update method to restore it.

it's soft bricked. not a big deal you can fix it.
