Bounce to Sample no longer gets stuck halfway through
Pinch-zooming on waveforms is now smooth and responsive
Multiple notes can now be played simultaneously when using 16 Levels on a polyphonic program

Finally I can play polyphonic in 16 levels! It was my biggest gripe. Even the littl MPC 500 did this very well
These thre are small, but man !!!

so far, my behringer x32 compact is well recognized , recorded few inputs and no cracks.....good !

I understand your disappointment, especially when that Tascam series was heavily featured in AKAI promotional content when demonstrating USB audio... It simply doesn't work as well as it should.

Hopefully AKAI will fix this.

Also, for me the Loading indicator for multisampled instruments in Fabric has disappeared.
I wonder if they pulled it out on purpose so you don't feel the MPC is lazy... :D

It works actually.


LOL every time they add more it just drags that poor CPU down. 2.10 was where they were first added and that OS takes about twice the time to start then 2.9 did. It got a little quicker with 2.11 but that's got its own issues..

What did you set the USB "Configuration" on the "Card" Settings page to? Do you utilise 32x32 I/O or did you set it to something different?

It works actually.


Same for Stage piano and EP, it loads the presets after all, but doesn't show the progress bar at the top. For a few seconds I thought it was frozen.

Not a big deal, anyway. I hope it's this way for a reason, like stability or speed, in exchange.

Oh wow. Looking forward to test that one. If they finally fixed that it is a MAJOR, long awaited bug fix.

Just did a first test with 2 different MIDI controller inputs in Software/controller mode. Seems to work. Nice!

Curious to know if other people get different results. I've been waiting for that bugfix for *at least* 2 years.

I had to download the installer from akai. The online updater from within the mpc menu never showed an available update.

Unfortunately the bug is still there when using the VST Plug-In in a DAW. The MIDI note-off messages are still sent to all channels. I guess Akai would need to update the MIDI driver for this (or finally update the plugin to VST3). I know very few people want/need to multi-timbrally sequence the MPC VST from a DAW but I find that limitation a bit frustrating on some studio projects.

I just sent a report to Akai about this.

I use all 3 modes of the MPC depending on my different projects... I know the standalone or MPC software+controller modes are generally more popular but I personally find the the MPC VST plugin to be a pretty powerful tool to have inside a DAW as a producer, especially for remixing work. I really like doing stuff like dragging and dropping audio stems into the MPC to chop them up while having the extra tactile controls of the hardware MPC unit connected. The problem is that sometimes it's just more convenient to do the sequencing using the DAW MIDI tracks (instead of the MPC plugin sequencer) and not being able to properly sequence the MPC plugin multi-timbrally is quite a frustrating limitation in these cases.
