I want to see linear audio editing (arrange mode?), more Ram, spectrum analyzer plugin and HDMI out. Either that or a new standalone Digital Multitrack, with MIDI in/out (what the Zoom R-20 should have been).

Lmao yea. One person does a video on information that has been here for months and boom it's everywhere.

Product managers at Akai: Hey developers I know there's no need to put what we're currently working on in the release software because of version control among other things, but go ahead and throw that in there so people will find it.

Oh shit. So it’s likely just going to be a 2000 XL themed X like the live retro for the anniversary

Probably with the same specs as the Key and come with all the plugins etc.

Kind of disappointing if true

What? That is pure spectulation. Is there any picture or something? Or just the word of some viewhungry youtuber with no ethics whatsoever?

Everyone is going on the assumption that this wil be a new MPCX but what if it isn't a replacement for the current X but a new top of the range MPC above the X..... hence "XL"

Could have larger screen, more RAM, more controls/buttons, colour OLED on Q-Links :)
....and please, please, HDMI out so we can catch=up with Rolands old MV units.

I guess we'll find out in April at CES

When the MPC XL comes out you're gonna see so many people complaining again and cursing Akai out like never before. That's why I went and stocked up on boxes of popcorn. It'll be like they did for the Key61 and every new Akai product that comes out. People will be saying 'how come they didn't make the MPC XXL instead, and why didn't they include car size stereo speakers, why no 32" 8k screen, or no real piano keyboard, and why no gaming processor instead of the MPC CPU. And how come they couldn't wait until the 40th anniversary instead of the 35th anniversary to make a true MPC X successor. lol

The people excessively complaining, are the ones who will call you asking “where are you” while in the next isle at the shoe store, only hanging up when they are standing right in front of you.

AKAI's hardware is great, it's the software that doesn't follow. It's because AKAI's hardware is great that the state of the software is so frustrating. Otherwise nobody would care in the first place. If people move away from DAWs it's generally to have a more hands on and stable experience, like an instrument. Bugs break all that benefit, and thought it comes up as a negative statement, it still has to be said regularly to show AKAI how this instability is ruining the experience for a lot of people imo.

Of course it’s just speculation but it tracks with what Akai does. Yes, I agree that dude is a POS but it makes sense what he’s saying.

Anyways, I overstated my “disappointment”. I really don’t care. I love my live and it’s the best mpc ever made. But I wouldn’t be mad if they came out with new hardware that’s even better not just new color schemes etc
