Hello ! first post here
I will give context to be as clear as possible :)

I purchased few months ago an MPC One which I use for different things. I have an electronic oriented post-punk band and I would like to use my MPC for live (midi brain) and remove use of my laptop. Recently we started to jam on intro of songs to create some tension before main riff. For example, using MPC i will create a sequence with only hat, then switch to hat and kick and then switch to main drum sequence but for now there is no "signal" or "drum break" to launch the main drum sequence or full drum song also I need to wait for end of sequence.

How do you guys handle switch to "main drum sequence" to have like a drum roll before etc knowing that i dont really know how long current sequence will be. Do you guys create 1 bar sequence with break and then launch next sequence ? I can give this as example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN74IAo3CLw (1min55) of what i want

Also is it possible in Song Mode to set some sequence to "manual trigger" so it doesn't automatically switch to next sequence in X bar ? I never really used song mode yet.

Thanks a lot !
I would be happy to add more details if needed

In the songmode, place sequences as follows:

1. Seq Hats HOLD 2-bars
2. Seq Fill-in 1 1-bar
3. Seq Main 1 4-bars
4. ...

While sequence1 (hats) is looping, pressing the "Next" button will start the fill-in in the next bar, and then the main sequence will play.

Nice transition trick is to use a longer sample at the end of the sequence, so it can still be playing at the start of the next sequence. Use a vocal or a white noise sample - whatever, and then make the next sequence a bit more sparse, and then continue switching to sequences as you've mentioned.
