From MPC Ren. / Soft 1.9.6 to MPC X / Soft. 2.11 on Mac OS

Hi there,
I have been working since years with MPC Renaissance and Software 1.9.6. I am doing mixdown / mastering and recording out of the box by using a digital mixer (Presonus SL 64S) as audio interface. The output of the mixer goes into the hardware recorder. This all runs on an imac (from 2015) on OS X yosemite 10.10.5
Most of the time the system was running stable. Now Presonus only supports mc OS 10.13 or later. Akai does not support software 1.9 at all.
So I decided to purchase a MPC X wich comes with the new software version 2.11. Now here are my main issues:
- which Mac OS Version would be the best to use MPC X with the latest software (2.11) on an imac from 2015?
- at the same time the preferences of the MPC software have to detect the Presonus SL 64 mixer (audio interface) as output and input (this did not work at all when I wanted to hook up my new set up as an intermediate on a windows 11 based notebook - knowing that windows is probably the worst solution....)

I would be very happy about any suggestions.

Go for the highest macOS your hardware supports while taking into account the os support of all the applications and plugins you intend to run. Monterey working fine for me.

Sorry one last question: As I still have running the 1.9.6 version on my imac (with mpc ren as controller) do I have to de-install this older version before install the new 2.11 version (with mpc x as controller)?
