I'm just getting to grips with incorporating live playing with 'DJ spinning' and have come across an instance where being able to STOP and START the MPC by a foot controller would be good. It would be good to STOP one sequence, then on starting up again, go to the NEXT SEQUENCE. This is easy enough to do when not playing, but when playing is impossible without programming in the stops etc.
I've come across a footswitch device called 'MorningStar MC8 which looks great.

Then there's the Behringer FCB1010 and Roland FC-300.

I can't find any YouTube videos featuring anyone using foot controllers to control the MPC Key 61 or MPC X but surely there must be hundreds doing this?
Any help much appreciated.

Haven't done it but it should be possible. There is a setting in Preferences that allows you to select sequences via program change messages, and most of the MIDI footswitches for guitarists send program change messages.

There's two standard 1/4" foot switch jacks on the MPC X. I use one on mine for START/STOP playback setting. I'd imagine if you had a second foot switch you could set that one to NEXT SEQUENCE. You'd just have to remember which foot/foot switch was assigned to each function.
