still got my mpc live v1 and i got very few complaints; we can all make suggestions but end of the day; like the other guy said these are the best most powerful mpcs ever despite the fact that we dont yet 3.0.

akai took a massive risk with the mpc touch and then brought it home with the live and the subsequent mpcs to bring thsit full circle.

consider where akai was back in 2010 to where things are now; they have done a fantastic job and have obliterated all competition.

the other companies basically gave up; but here is another MPC X SE praise video to keep the hate going

Both things can be true

1.MPCs are great machines and the current line ups are arguably the best MPCs ever

2. Akai does some stupid shit and and makes questionable decisions that deserve to be talked about

It’s also very easy to discuss these things while still making music, performing, touring etc

Sorry but I don't understand what it has to do with anything that the current products are better than retro gear I could theoretically buy for a relatively high price from Ebay or Reverb. If Akai was only competing with the second-hand used MPC market, then it would matter that their current product is better than the old ones. But that's not the market they're targeting.

They don't see the difference between complaining and constructive criticism, always end up opposing questioning things and making music somehow. But that's alright, not the first time and probably not the last.

I get it it the MPC makes you work. I get you want AI and use your imagination to make a hit... constructive criticism no its not because when Akai delivers what you want you complain about how long it took instead of learning what you have in front of you.. purchase a tutor PDF and make beats.. :o

MPC X Special Edition was a smart marketing ploy to generate more income off a refreshed MPC market. Most all companies do that with their most successful or flagship product.

An MPC X MKII or MPC X XL with significant upgrade features probably won't come around for another four to five years and after the chip shortage have been eliminated. There may be significant software and firmware upgrades to keep the platform moving ahead for the future.

I think Akai's next move should be or be upgrading their old MPK midi keyboard controller line. That thing is nearly 10 years old and in desperate need of an upgrade to add a chord option button like the Mini Plus, for the keys, maybe MCU Mackie control to control DAW software like on the Arturia. Maybe add a bigger screen if possible.

Then the FORCE 6 keyboard should come at some point soon within the next three to four years. Then after that a new MPC Key61 MKII a few years after that. Assuming the chip market is back up to full speed and running on all cylinders in the new U.S. chip making company. I see product creativity and products kicking back in after the dust has settled.

I'm pretty satisfied with my live 2! its a brilliant machine, bit awkward to use. But it will take another millenia before companies realise how to make a decent os for these things!

Most things are straightforward, but just not as intuitive or ergonomic as could be.

One thing I seriously hope makes it to an akai mini plus of the future is the 16 step buttons like on an mc-707. I love to use them to get beats down. But the MPC pads are also so brilliant in use that it would be nice to have 16 of those then they could be used in either scenario. Maybe one day... :worthy:

Interesting, those photos would be from the 'confidential' part of the FCC submission, which is not set to be public until 1st August. Probably another 'accidental' leak to drum up some buzz.

TBH, I'm sure it will look better in the flesh, those FCC photoshoots always look pretty grim. The MPCX SE looks a lot better than it did in the leaks.

We know from the FCC report that it's going to have wifi and bluetooth, but I wonder if it will have the 4GB ram and USB 3.0. Couldn't tell from the video if it had a blue USB port.

I'll be surprised if it doesn't have the additional ram. I also bet it'll come with all the plugins

u say the X SE looked better after release but nothing about th epaint job changed from the orginal photos we saw versus what was actually released.

so that red colour is gonna look just as bad once released; its just a poor colour choice for the style of device, they would have been better of sticking with the black or maybe trying a silver/grey.

also according to samplekings this unit would have to be released before june 30th not august the 1st

It's like they don't have someone with proper art background or atleast someone with knowledge of color working for them... I've seen so many dope looking custom mpcs in the past and then they just do this? Sorta a kick to the nuts. That mpc4000 skin(or whatever that was) on the mpcone looked way better than this.

This may not be the final color or maybe they will offer multiple colors. Also, If it comes out this year, it could be a 35-year SE so it's red for Akai (1 of the meanings of akai).

Basically, don't jump to conclusions with these "leaks" & even if it is red, you can just buy a new skin. So focus on what's important, which is the features & if it's a tool that you need. If not, don't worry about it.
