To be fair, creating a delay effect using 16 levels isn't even close to being in the same category as a true delay, especially something as feature-rich as Air Delay Pro. The 16-levels approach was a workaround-cheat from back in the day when there wasn't a quick/great delay option built-in to the original MPC. We've come a long way since those days.

Took a frustrating 18 hours or so to get the plugin to show up in my account. In fairness to Akai, once an actual human being was aware of it, they fixed it quickly. In a moment of weakness, I used the online chat and completely forgot why I never use online chat services

The plugin sounds really nice, it can totally transform your sounds in a way that I didn't expect from the MPC. Well worth the £ and hopefully this sets a standard for things to come.

We need a reverb with as much attention to detail as air delay pro.

Plug in boutique has it for 39 usd with a free mooogerfooger vst.. for some reason I though the mpc instruments/effects could only be bought from akai.

Just bought it via plugin boutique as I had virtual cash in my account there, plus got the moogerfooger. After entering the serial number directly in the plugin it's now appeared as a registered product in my inMusic account, so I assume it will now sync to a standalone MPC no problem, will try later.

Yep, that's what I did (£36!) and it's activated in my MPC standalone too. I had to update fw to 2.11.9 or whatever the latest is.

Bought Delay Pro today, haven't added to the MPC but did play with my Prologue in Ableton. Sounds solid, some unique features to and good interface. Wish u could simply remove all the crappy FX, so much useless clutter...a few good ones but not many.

Akai/Air def need to do same treatment for a Reverb, EQ and Compressor. My other favourite FX is Granulator, that one stands out for me from the default bunch.

My not remove them but add a Fav FX list or something would be nice

I second that idea, it’s needed just like a favourites list for the browser. (Currently I think I am the only one who’s not willing to buy s..t from Akai until they add quality of life features like these to their software)

Absolutely. I was meaning to say that I couldn’t care less about a more sophisticated delay as that’s not what I need from an MPC. If it’s there, that’s cool but I wouldn’t buy it for s..t until the software becomes more usable and less clunky in general. They really need to take a few hints from NI (who themselves have issues in the sampler part of their Maschine OS which is basically stuck in the early 2000s) and make the OS more lean and more flexible to use (no changing fx order, come on?).
Someone compared it to Frankenstein’s monster where you can see all the bolts sticking out and I thin this is an apt comparison. It’s patched together and not really held together by much…

Someone says on Facebook that the Ether plugin also appeared for him on his akai Force.

Can someone confirm something like this ? Ether sounds 10 times better than air reverb and when I asked Air about a beta standalone version I was told that they don't support standalones yet.

Keep it coming. These are excellent tools for techno / dnb / house heads.
