Trouble exporting stems

Hi MPC folks.

I am having trouble exporting stems. Many stems end up blank.
I am sure there is some logic there somewhere but after two whole days I cant figure it out.

I have tried standalone and using the desktop software in Controller Mode.
The strange thing is some channels always render, Some never render and some are intermittent.

Does anyone know what might be going on here???
Any help would be massively appreciated.

I have also tried tracking using the VST into Bitwig & S1but those issues are a complete other story.

What type of tracks are the ones giving blank audio (i.e. drum, midi, plugin etc) - what type of program/instrument is assigned?

Hi thanks for the reply.

Innitially I thought it was me having messed arround with routing settings.
Then I thought it was just VST's I was running in controller mode but I realised the results were different each time I exported.... I think it was hanging at different times in the export but tricky to know exactly when.... One time I noticed it took ages on track one which was actually a muted MIDI track.. I thought it has frozen/crashed but after about an hour it completed....

I rendered the exact same thing in standalone without the VSTs and it was done in about 20 seconds..... However some tracks were still blank??

In the end I bounced the missing tracks which worked well but not exactly spontaneous.
I would prefer to track live as I like the live ish feel it adds... To be honest I am still figuring out how I like to do things so im super open to suggestions.

I've always had this happen as well. Or, sometimes, a drum track with just clicks instead of the samples. Never really figured it out, but then I haven't really tried to. I've just opened the vst in the end and bounced in a DAW. But it's ridiculous really. You'd think stuff like that would just work.

Are you exporting from song mode(not sure if you can still do this) sequence, or converted sequence?

I know some people have issues exporting stems because their converted sequence gets messed up because they don’t have their tracks and programs matching up from sequence to sequence. There were also issues exporting stems if you didn’t have track 1 empty (not sure if this big was fixed but it’s just my habit now)

Wtf, really? Been having some projects with those blank stems issues too. One had drums using a drum program on track 1, then synth, bass and other stuff on other tracks. Bounce to audio and export to Ableton Live projects always exported a blank stem for the drums (other tracks were fine). Then tried to explode that drum track but still, individual elements got blank stems.

Ended up tracking out by recording through the VST to a DAW but is was tedious and overall a big waist of time trying to understand wtf was wrong with those stems. I'd be very interested to know a workaround if there's any.
