Don't quite understand why there would be same exact sample played at the same time since it's just 1 pad hit each time.

However, here's some tests done:

I played "kick-snare-kick-snare" continuously like a normal drum beat.

1) The "choke" (it's like the sound plays and got cut off on its own immediately, before the next pad is even struck yet) may happen usually after a while of playing. And when it happens, it will happen again fairly soon. After a couple of occurrences, it will be normal again until some time later where it might happen again a couple times, etc.

2) It happens with my own drum project or one derived from a default template, such as the hiphop template. So I would presume it's not my project.

3) It didn't seem to happen if I'm using Full Level, at least for now.

4) It happens even in controller mode. I presume the sound would be played by the desktop MPC software, so the sound playback itself isn't the issue.

5) It happens where I loaded my project from the SSD or SD card. So I also presume it's not the storage medium.

6) CPU and memory is very minimal, so I also presume it's not those.

7) I also have the MPC Studio MK2 and the project plays fine. So I presume it's the MPC Live 2 or its pads.

8) I changed the pads' sensitivities and thresholds and no big difference. But it felt (felt but not conclusive) that it doesn't happen much if I hit the pads harder. But since the pad triggered, there no good reason why the sound would get cut off "randomly".

9) Tried at least4 different versions of firmware, same thing.

So I'm wondering is it me and my hitting or it's the device. I'm hoping I don't have to send it back as I really like the thing. Okay, understatement, I love the thing.

I noticed that when I play a drum beat with kick+snare, occasionally, one of the beat sound gets "distorted" as in it seems like it was not played completely (or as if as it choked on that note). It will be ok immediately after and then occasionally it happened again. Sometimes it takes longer before it happens and sometimes it happens more often for a short moment and it's okay for a while. Anybody know what happened?

Something like this may only happen when the same exact sample is being played at the sametime. Maybe try using sample offset in the program editor by delaying one of them just little & see is that helps. But this shouldn't be happening. :hmmm:

This sounds like an issue of the pads being too bouncy, sometimes you hit it, the pad bounces, hits your finger gently and this gentle hit cuts out the hard hit with one inaudible, so it seems like the hit is just cutting out. The older MPCs were much nicer to play for this reason and I'm yet to find a solution to it.

You can adjust the pad sensitivity so it doesn't respond to light taps. Tip: you like to play without using Full-Level on & want to play low velocity more consistently set so that it requires more force. It seems counter-intuitive but, it works for me, it still take some practice but it feels easier to play low to high volumes on the pads.

Unbelievable! There’s almost a science to the pads alone! I’ll try to adjust the sensitivity and test them again. Thanks so much!

I found the adjustment available here is far less than on my old MPC2500. Even on a solid surface I'd sometimes get this but more often I'm on a table which also has a bit of a bounce, which the MPC2500 never gave me issues on. Me getting better at playing will help, sure I've heard somebody say the pads wear in a bit too...

I went from the 1k/2500 to the Force, but don't have a problem with the smaller pads after adjusting the pad sensitivity. Is there a way to recalibrate the pads?

After some more tests, you might be right. But I can't say if it's "bouncy" issue but rather, this happens if my hit slightly skids. This is probably the same as a double trigger. So my "natural" ability to do scratching causes this. The occasional occurrences together could be when my figner is tired.

But this is solved by setting the particular pads to Poly as makes the sound play properly despite the occasional "skids".

Adjusting the pad threshold doesn't make a big difference since a "skid" is a "skid". Not sure if that's the right term to use in this situation.

That's the observations for now.

There's a huge bug with how the Warp algorithms work! In that they only work when you are speeding up the sample being played, at even if the original and sequence BPM match (so no change should be taking place at all) you still get the huge degradation in sound!

This is noticeable on breakbeats on the first kick of the beat so it's easy to hear. Loads a breakbeat, have your sequence BPM lower than the BPM of the break, enable Sync and Warp. You will hear nasty distortion/retrigger of the kick drum every time you trigger the break. Adjust the BPM of the sample down towards the sequence BPM. This audible effect stays clear all the way until the BPMs match. Drop to one BPM lower than Seq BPM and suddenly the time stretching is clean and usable.

This is very clearly noticable on both Warp Algorithm settings, Pro Ten and Basic, available in the Settings menu. I tested and heard it with multiple breaks (I only tried three but it was present on every one I tried so thought that should be enough to say it's not the sample.)

It's all very quiet in MPC land! Been a while since the last decent update. Anyone "in the know" have any idea if something is due?

Hello! I've been trying to use my MPC ONE with my Keystep Pro, but I've encountered a problem. I'm using two midi channels on the Keystep Pro - one for drums ( MPC ONE) and the other for bass sounds (also MPC ONE). Initially, everything seems fine, but when I try to create a sequence, I notice that the bass notes occasionally get muted. Can someone please help me troubleshoot this issue?

AKAI MPC ONE+ Can’t Connect to Wi-Fi
I bought an Akai mpc ONE+ a few days ago and I can't connect to wifi. After turning on the wifi button nothing happens. Initially there was firmware 2.11.9, I thought that the problem in it but after I updated it to 2.12 the problem did not solve, then updated to 2.12.1 but the result was the same. I also tried using a usb to ethernet adapter but still no luck to join the network. I have exactly the same problem as the person in the video: https://www.reddit.com/r/akaiMPC/commen ... t_to_wifi/.
