AKAI never seem to nail the design. They really should spend some money on professional designers as 99% of their kit looks bad. NI Maschine nails the "everything in its place" look.

not interested in this in the slightest. It looks very squashed together

the design indeed looks horrible – like a photoshop mock-up.
it's clearly that akai didn't put any effort in the design at all.

what a shame.

OK so its basically just a One+ with keys. My guess is 2gb, no sata drive, no battery, no plugins outside of the free ones.

Since the One+ is a broken piece of shit I'd be very wary buying this thing if you want to hook up any storage to it without it crashing

The second biggest travesty besides no locate buttons is the black rubber pads. They look terrible after two weeks of use. 95% of the reason I got the retro One was for not black pads

Lol... man, the mpc user base sure has changed from the 90s.

When you copped an mp you made it your own by throwing stickers on it, ashing your newport 100 on the pads, and beating them down till they had a buttery burnt leather texture at the edges. Nothing but character. It was YOURS.

Now kids are complaining bout black pads lol

Anyway, anything below the live/x isnt getting x/live outputs and ram. Its literally the ONLY thing seperating them from the rest, oh and q-links. Why would they add all those lovely feats if they alreaydy exist on their top shelf products? Business 101.

All these devices would actually be dope if they wernet so cheaply made.

I wouldnt be suprised if the clicky buttoms under the screen arent even F buttons but instead a completely different alt group set. Lol

Inmusisc is full of weirdos.

Every single black MPC One on eBay looks like sh*t and every single retro MPC One on ebay looks brand new so it's a legitimate annoyance. The finish they use on them is atrocious.

Eh... Compare the "design" of the very first Akai MPC 60 - their "pro" music gear - to literally all of their consumer grade electronics. The original MPC was 100% utilitarian and did not look great at all. Take one look at the Akai GX-747 reel to reel (in silver OR black) or their tape decks like the GX-F95 or their receivers - now THOSE were things of beauty.

Legitimate question - who at Akai decided to put the mod wheels ABOVE the keyboard, ESPECIALLY when all it did was offset the goddamn screen and make the wheels harder to reach? I can get past the red and the smaller pads. That's whatever. Cover it in stickers. All good. Hell, I LOVE utilitarian design. It goes well with the industrial music I love. HOWEVER, the panel design reeks of internal cost cutting measures. I can't believe someone wrote off on this.

I was pretty excited about a smaller MPC keys and was saving to cop one, but there are so many jacked things about this. No multiple outs? No USB-C? What's the advantage of this when I can get an MPC One+ with keyboard controller and save both money AND space? Honest question. Someone enlighten me.

The design of the 37 seriously looks like they took a childs painting and built it exactly like it was drawn. They even managed to replicate the off proportions

Though it's definitely odd there's no USB port on the back, I also don't see a power port and clearly it must have one of those somewhere? Makes me think there must be more IO ports on maybe the right side of the unit?

Edit: now that I look at it, the photo of the back of the unit is cut off. The USB port can very well be to the right of the SD card slot.
