So you're not getting a refund, because they printed "professional" on it? They're doing this for a living, in the business of getting your money, that's why they're the professionals here. For me these devices are toys. If you let them keep your money, that's your own choice of course.

I got rid of the MPC One toy, because I felt I didn't get my money's worth of fun from it, it was a broken toy. I'm keeping my Force toy, because it is fun, even with its deficiences.

I am just posting here to point out this was 1st reported way back in 2017, I see it on Gearspace. Well it's April 2024, I'm running the latest version - 2.14, and this is still happening. I am using Ableton Live and sending midi to individual tracks. On 1 track I have a long atmospheric sample set to note on so I can choose went to end it. On another track I have percussion sounds. well if I hit the same pad/note on the percussion track it's note off stops my atmospheric sound.

Wow, our little bug is in the 2nd grade now. Time goes by so fast. I almost feel like a proud parent :|

I raised a ticket a few weeks ago to raise a complaint and asking for my money back because of this stupid issue. I referred them directly to this thread. Here is the first reply. (looks a bit Ai generated, but I'm a bit happier that it's been acknowledged)

Just be aware that Akai themselves made mention of this as a known bug back in the MPC 2.12 release notes:

2.12 was released a year ago (pretty much to the day), and as you can see these midi related bugs have been publicly discussed and reported since 2021, so when they say 'please allow us a short amount of time to investigate' take this with very large pinch of salt!

Thanks for raising a ticket about this issue! Akai are definitely aware of this problem, but I think it helps if people do take the time to contact support if they are affected by this bug. I contacted them a couple of months back (also referencing this thread), and the response was basically that they are still aware of this bug, and it's still being actively looked into. I'm not sure you'll get much more info than that from support at the moment, but it does get logged.

It is absurd though..... how a S2000 from 30 years ago could do multi channel Midi just fine, but the current MPC range cannot.

Y'all forget, the S2000 was not made by the same people that call themselves Akai today (I had one of those too).

Nobody that is with Akai today had ANYTHING to do with the amazing legacy of samplers and instruments they used to make, despite the fact that they like to flaunt 'their history' and act like they hired Roger Linn to design the MPC60 themselves.

Numark and InMusic have been doing nothing but riding the OG Akai's coattails and dishing out half-ass unfinished products from day 1.
