Can't update mpc one from usb

Hi im trying to update from 2.12 to 2.14 via usb flash.

After detecting the file during update I just get an error that says ' there was a problem with the update file. Please check the file'.

I've rebooted, tried earlier update numbers and used multiple usbs,reformatted etc nothing works. I'm completely stuck as months ago I updated to 2.10 fine.

Am I missing something obvious here?

Not much to go on. What were the USB drives formatted in? ExFaT, FAT, etc? Did you attempt to redownload the firmware? It could’ve gotten corrupted. That’s what it sounds like it could be telling you. How much free space does your MPC have on the internal storage?

As an alternative, you can connect your MPC to your computer and update it that way. Better yet, can you connect it via Ethernet and update it over the internet.

I think it could be a low memory inernal drive issue (thanks for idea), as ive just had a 500mb warning.

Is there a file manager type programme where I can go and start deleting files please?

Have you been saving files to the internal drive?

If so, you'll have to move files from there to another drive by connecting it to a PC. Then delete the file on the internal drive.

The more tedious way is to load the files from the internal drive, save them to the SD drive & then delete them.

Not intentionally, but I think some samples have been saved accidently, how do I delete them without messing anything up?

You have to hold down the "Shift" button on your device, then the "Delete File" tab will appear at the bottom.

Of course not. Why would you. You need someone to hate on, happy to oblige.

Just in case anyone has a similar issue, no matter what correctly formatted usb, what update file, amount of free space ingot same error.

However, I resolved this issue by sticking my android phone in the usb and teethering an internet connection. Then boom all the updates and synths etc loaded seamlessly through the net. Takeaway.......usb system update file transfer is waste of time for me. Hopefully this helps others.
