I purchased a b-stock MPC X SE on Reverb. When I took it out of the box, something was rattling inside the MPC. I opened the SSD drive bay door and a little CR1220 battery fell out.

The MPC works fine but I'm concerned the battery might be something important on one of the PCBs.
Does anyone know what the CR1220 battery does on the MPC X?

it’s for RTC and it might cause authorization problems as the clock might revert itself to 01.01.1970 - not a biggie as the auth is crippled anyway and trips itself with or without it

Updates on this.

#1 Akai confirmed that the battery is important. They sent a replacement MPC X SE. But...
#2 The replacement that arrived - the pad sensors were not working, so they sent another replacement.
#3 The third replacement - the entire top panel does not work (no lights, no button responses) and the infamous "no internal audio device found" error along with repeated "internal error" prompts.

this is not a fun experience
