Track mute on e.g. a drum/keygroup/plugin track means muting the audio outputs of the track, and it's even post-fx so I can't even leave a reverb or delay tail to soften the abrupt mute except with audio send effects. If I want a musically useful mute, I have to use a separate MIDI track sending to the sound-generating drum/keygroup/plugin track. So is the same thing coming to MPC now. Use two tracks per track.
