Disk streaming works exactly the same as it does on Force, so the short answer is: yes. Easily. The longer answer is: you can stream more than 8 if you also use a Drum Program to trigger more. How many you can get depends on your disk performance (SSD highly recommended), the phase of the moon, and how much salt you throw over your shoulder.

Unpopular opinion here but what's the point to send feedback on a public beta we don't have yet ?
We don't know if the build of the open beta 3.0 will be the same as YouTubers actually got. It quasi certain our build will get mute tracks back if I listen well.
what don't we wait to try first ?

Strictly speaking you stream samples, not tracks, so there's no limit AFAIK. An audio track is ultimately just playing back a sample. THe difference is that you can configure the MPC to automatically stream samples assigned to an audio track, while all other samples have to be manually (and individually) set to stream.

The public beta is definitely going to be different to what you are seeing, this is why it's still in private beta so they can squash any nasty stuff before it goes out to a wider audience, and hopefully take on board any feedback and suggestions. And that's why I personally think it's okay that people are starting to voice their opinions now, even though they don't have the beta yet.

Almost two weeks and still dead silence from Akai. This company is a joke when it comes to its approach to its feeders.

No different to the force, you can 'save as program' (.xpm) or even save 'as a track' (.XTD) - this option contains stuff like custom macros.

They said public beta would come out in a couple of weeks or so. What do you expect them to do? People were complaining that Akai never do public betas, now they are going to do exactly that people are still finding something to complain about.

A lot of people are just looking for 1-2 killer features to facilitate their own workflows. MPC has so much more potential than the current software allows. Not that there is not a lot of potential -- the fact that many users are just 1-2 killer features away from the possibility they imagine says something about what we already have.

If an update ticks off one of these killer features, everything else is just background noise really and you can take it as it comes to get the potential functionality you're looking for. MPC3 looks like it delivers a lot more of those killer features in one go than we're used to from AKAI, in a free update.

For me it's:

#1 MACROS!!! -- absolutely life changing feature, I used to be a big BM3 user for years, cannot go back to 1 linear CC per function
#2 reordering tracks and effects -- that's really all it takes in some cases

(and also fixing the MMC and MIDI multitimbral bugs PLEASE PLEASE)

Extremely excited about these things, but apart from these items I don't really care what else they do as long as they don't make changes I literally cannot work around. This isn't even the biggest/most anticipated features that they've announced.

Overall looking forward to my MPC becoming more useful, maybe being actually functional again -- 2.8 was the last working version . Happy to see the platform moving forward.

If we're not talking about samples - strictly speaking - and we are in fact talking about audio tracks, then there is absolutely a limit as it works just like Force. And while on Force you can disk stream 8 audio tracks using all 8 of the available audio tracks, you can add more by just triggering them in a Drum Program and setting said pads to trigger the samples as MIDI events. But after you approach anywhere from 16-24 "tracks" being streamed (that is, the 8 audio tracks + a Drum Program triggering long samples as "tracks"), even from an SSD you might find the bandwidth saturated and you then experience audio drop outs or pop/click. At least this is how it works on Force.

They suggested to me that it was already available when I clicked the button. Akai is doing a Grand Premiere of the beta version, and they should make it available right away since it will be open public anyway.
