I guess I was wrong about Tubedigga, I still need to watch his video. Comment videos are great, but why give the acutal Beta to Gabe Miller? If he wants to make a commentary video, thats perfectly fine. Whats wrong with Reaper? Everything. The interface is atrocius, the built-in devices look like Windows 98, and the pricing system doesnt make any sense at all. Bitwig, Logic and Ableton are all better, objectively. Also, I've listened to a lot of his music, and theres nothing interesting or special about it. Everything he does in repaer could be done faster, better and more efficiently in another DAW. The worst part is that he doesnt make Boom-Bap sample based Hip-Hop, which is the main genre of the core user base of the MPC. Giving the 3.0 firmware to him just shows how desparate Akai is to get new users, which, to me doesnt make sense. The new firmware will attract new users simply because of the features and usability, not because some civil engineer noob drummer says, "This software isnt janky anymore because I love all the cool colors and fuzzy fart sounds it can make!"

Im just looking forward to auto-sampling my new TEO-5 with 8 velocity layers when the 3.0 Beta drops. Lots of exciting music going to be made soon.

For someone as versed in the AKAI Force as he is, Gabe was even thrown off by the Song mode to arranger flow.

Song Mode's GUI should have been updated to a GLOBAL Arranger instead of having the older convert to song a list page.

They could have put an icon on the top to switch from Song Mode/ Global Arranger to IndividuaL sequence mode.

Still can't wait for the Beta though,

Its really sad that this worthless kid gets prioritized over actual musicians with actual skills that can give us valuable feedback and opinions. 3.0 Beta doesnt go to Tubedigga, BoBeats, Dilliot2k, Sanjay, midlife synthesist, and many others could have done a better, more informative and opinionated review with more value than the useless civil engineer who has never touched a Keyboard workstation or Legacy MPC in his life. That kid needs to stick with the Novation Circut and stop posting videos. Thankfully I have his channel blocked so I never have to watch or hear anything from him ever again.

Tubedigga & Dilliot2k def got the v3 beta.

But I notice people on the forum have alot of hate for Gabe; I dont think he as bad as people claim; I think his beats are good.

I think most of the hate comes from the fact that he young, and he not from the boom bap era; and does not have the legacy mpc workflow history.

But there is an entire new generation of youtube producers that Inmusic is targeting; so they dont primarily cater to the legacy crowd anymore.

I have no hate on his age, Metro Boomin and Zaytoven are just as young, but they both make WAY better tracks than anything Ive heard Gabe Miller make, and they both use the MPC.

My reason for hating him is because hes a video maker who happens to use the MPC, not an MPC user who happens to make videos. His videos on the Circuit and MC-101 are perfectly fine, but hes proven time and time again that he doesnt read the manual, and complains about firmware by calling it "janky" which is just simply unprofessional and makes him look uneducated. This guy, on the other hand, knows how to chop samples in a creative way, and uses the MPC in a musical way. Here he is describing the exact conundrum many of us have been discussing on this forum.

Global Arranger is a great idea! They need to find a way to translate MPC sequences to Scenes in the arranger.

u might not like his music but obviously many people do; and hence he has a following.

Maybe Gabe represents the younger youtube beatmaker crowd that Akai are attempting to market to.

Far as boom bap producers being the main target of akai; that has shifted now as Inmusic wants to expand their core audience beyond the hip hop producer crowd.

Hence the various vst's and the built in sounds of the MPC cater to a more diverse musical pallet then just boom bap.

We can also see many features that have been added to MPC have clearly have other genres in mind.

@jpeg, People like Gabe Miller videos, not his music. Dude has 294 listeners on Spotify, but 10s of thousands of Youtube Subscribers because he makes content that feeds the algorithm, not honest content that tells people what we need to hear. There are plenty of other producers that dont make Boom-Bap, give good reviews, and make better music than Gabe Miller. Tubedigga- Drum&Bass, Austin Mills-House, JBlack- R&B/Soul, Tefty&Meems - Ambient/Electronica. Even Fred again was using MPC before he switched to Maschine. Gave Miller is a civil engineer and a video maker, not a musician. Lets leave the music making to the music makers.

You don't need a global arranger when you can make any sequence your "global" arranger. Just convert to sequence in song mode, and there you go. Global arranger made sense on the FORCE where you can record the clips you're firing off from the matrix directly into the arranger in realtime, but there's no utility to that when MPC 3 lacks clips. (It also looks like you "can" record sequence changes directly into a new sequence in realtime in song mode, btw (could be wrong, though...), so you still get a kind of similar functionality.)

Most of the reasons why you hate him (damn bro that's kinda deep to hate a YT dude) is the reason why like his videos. I grew on boombap, but I don't need to only learn from boombap beat makers. I don't judge YouTubers knowledge on a device based how much I like their music that they're using in their video as a demo. I guess some can be more objective with stuff like that. As an American I love the term janky, because nobody in my hood uses it & it sound funny to me, but even if I didn't like a word some random dude on yt uses, I don't let stuff like that stress me out. I live in the hood with real shit to worry about.

Anyway I found his video informative. He addresses some the issues people are concerned about. He was honest about his experience with the mpc & that he doesn't use the different programs on the same track. Also, he use MPC3 from a real world perspective. I like that he tried to figure thing out on his own. He offer a look at working different sequences & the arranger which first time I seen some do that, not saying he was the first to show that, that was informative.

Re Malo Beats, even tho I like his best better, I don't think he's more knowledgeable than Gabe on the MPC. On one of Malo MPC3 video had to check him on why would you tell us that there another alternative to not having the program pool, but not show it the video, but you had time to talk about your sample packs & play a beat at the end. Really bro?

That's not why we clicked on this. He could've showed that other method using MIDI tracks that he said he found online right after me & Tutor talk about here, but whatever, & then played his beat - which was dope BTW, but still.. :|

That's just our legacy workflow, we are all use to that.

I'm just concerned about new users being befuddled at having to find the covert to one sequence button after making a song list. ....Well that's if they use more than one sequence at all which they probably won't.

yeah i know about malo beats; he does well produced videos, but i am not crazy about his beats, i prefer Bolo and Ave Mcree beats, but I dont like Ave's personality and videos.

I know about matthew stratton he had some decent vids, same with iamsight but he has been inactive.

accurate beats is good; I think saint joe from back in the day was one of the best, but again i dont think he active much anymore

That Gavin newsom guys video seemed pretty informative. Arranger seems like it will be good when working and recording audio, which I do a lot with analog synths.

Does anyone know if the macros can control CC parameters of hardware synths or is it just plugins? If it can, can you also stack CC parameters from different hardware synths onto one knob?
