Can someone try editing portmento on a key group I only get one result its either on at 30.00s or off, if you leave it on, playing the keys gets odd results particularly if using pitch bend, beta and all that so fine, but somethings off here and not seen mentioned anywhere

This is absolutely ridiculous for being sold as a "standalone" device.

I mean, to use the device itself!? Do they not know it's their device when it turns on? Yes, they do, but they want to send ads and **** to our devices. I see no other reason at all for the device itself being DRM. I have zero add-ons on my MPC X. Why do I need to be connected to the Internet?

NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE THE CASE IN THE FINAL RELEASE COURTESY MPC-TUTOR!

(If you can delete this post please do.)

Don't know how many times I have to post that this is NOT intended behaviour, it is a bug and I can confirm that my MPCs all use MPC3 with wifi disabled.

Can we stop all the drama about what is a bug, this is why it's a beta and not a final release.

Also, the final release will apparently not have a license, so there will be no need to log into an account and activate at all, so if you have a permanently offline MPC, you can still use MPC3. But during beta, there is a license, if that's an issue, don't use the beta and wait for the final release.

MPC-Tutor wrote:Also be aware that the final 'stable' release will apparently not need an activation/license code at all, it will be just like any other firmware update, download and install, the end.

But this beta activation system also allows them to further test the licensing system as a whole, so hopefully will help them nail the ongoing plugin activation issues some people have.

THANK YOU for the information. (I am now relieved and will stop my ranting on the forum.)

Why would Akai not say this on the beta page? (Rhetorical!)

I have a "studio" shed out in the back of my property. It's packed with equipment, setup with the MPC X, and I was really stressing that I would have to search for a new sequencer, again. I'll just wait for the actual release of MPC3.

Yeah, sorry about that. I was initially so happy about the MPC3 and then... that!

I am over it. Thank you so much for the information!!

[quote="MPC-Tutor"]This is not intended behaviour and I am unable to recreate this - I've disabled wifi in both my MPCs and the beta continues without any issues. Have also rebooted with wifi disabled and no issues at all.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'it doesn't work'?

AKAI made it so that if you're not logged in , a prompt apppears saying "Please log in" then after a few moments it will disable audio and play a loop of waves crashing and synth sound.

SOUNDS intentional to me. Maybe you have an insider beta that doesnt do this

Hold shift then adjust should work. Sure I saw it flagged on the beta forum. Edit. Might have been in this thread

I said you do not have to be permanently online. 'Logged in' is different - you have to log in and then you need to stay logged in, but you can go offline, Two different things. If you log out of your account I assume you'll see that error. If you don't log out, you shouldn't see the error. If it's logging you out then that's a bug, report it. It's a beta, you'll get bugs like this.

The beta requires you are logged into your account, but not necessarily online. The beta license is tied to your account, so it needs to see that your MPC is logged into an account with a beta license. Log in, session created, go offline, No problem. Final release will not be licensed so you won't even need to be logged in.

Akai are clearly using this beta to simultaneously iron out the quirks in the plugin licensing system. Again, if that's a problem, just wait for the final release and skip the beta.

Mine doesn't do that neither, moreover since a couple of hours my MP can't access the internet due to some bug that I'm trying to locate now.

Am I the only one bothered by these aspects of the new interface?
1. The lack of a transport bar in the channel mixer and pad mixer screens.
2. In these modes, the Q-Links do not allow you to manage the volume (or any other parameter) of several tracks at the same time (unless you set them to "Volume" mode, but that's not practical).
Did I miss something?

The past 24 hours has opened my eyes a bit. Seeing (with no judgement) how the average users interacts with and reacts to a beta. Maybe I was too hard on Akai. This was really a leap of faith.

They took the chat off of inmusic, probably because they knew they would get slammed.. but how do you report bugs? Because mine was saying to log in even though I was logged in already once I downloaded the update..

all you had to do was to scroll through facebook and read some posts in a few most popular groups :WTF:
I knew that it will look this way from the get go - and yeah.... no judgement

[...]will help them nail the ongoing plugin activation issues some people have

ever since release of air vocal distortion last year or whenever, it never installed on the mpc. you press the activate button, then the download button, then nothing. i got a free voucher for a future plugin ( i own then all at the moment) because of this.

anyway, once 3.4 beta installed, the plugin is now installed on the machine!! so seems the above snippet makes sense to me.
