MPC One & SD Card issue

My SD Card with the physical lock on side disengaged is read only in MPC One even after formatting on Mac with both the internal and 3rd party SD Card formatter. SD Card is read and write on Mac but cannot seem to get the MPC One to have the write function. Will not format on MPC One either as it says read only. Please?!? Any clues? Would appreciate any insight, thank you .

I would guess that it is a card issue. Try with another card.
I see this problem in other areas (with Tascam recorders on the Tascam forum this is talked about quite often)

did you just buy the card? is it formatted exfat? maybe slide the switch back and forth as it maybe faulty. i would also try a different card. sandisk is fine. ive had no issues with sandisk in the years ive used them.

Same here. I’ve never had any problem with Sandisk.
But one thing to be aware of is that it’s much more common with fake memory cards nowadays. Especially if one buys them online from some cheap unknown vendor. These cards can be faulty and/or of a smaller size.
I always buy them in a brick and mortar photography store.

Sometimes the write-protection switch gets accidentally turned on when inserting the SD card into the device.

Card bought new from a trusted retailer (Noel Leeming in NZ) and I've tried other cards also with same issue. As to if the switch gets moved when inserted it always comes out in the same position of being unlocked. Works fine with card reader using MPC software on Mac so at least I can save projects on software and transfer to MPC but that doesn't allow me to write to edits I make in standalone.

Try formatting your card in exFAT or similar. This sounds like it‘s formatted as NTFS, which can be read but not written to by Linux OS.

Formatted exFat currently and also tried FAT32 with same issue.

completely not true, NTFS can be read and written to without any problems - most of the linux distros have kernel level drivers NTFS3 or fuse NTFS-3g. exFAT is the worst of them as it’s not Journaled and any interruption or power outage during read/write equals to pretty much catastrophic failure of your filesystem.
With current distro, Akai moved from ntfs-3g to ntfs3 which is more prone to failures than previous version but still way better than exFat.

Micro sd? try a different sheething or slip thingy for it and slap it back in. if all other devices will read it and write to it but the mpc can only read it could be as simple the little adaptor you slap the card into not making good physical contact or has oxidized.

occam's razor suggests its an issue with your mpc if the card can be read and used in other devices.
