8 outs problem

ok i hooked up each of my eight outs into an eigh track mixer. I then have the mixer outs going straight to my sound card. When i try to record a song into logic the volume is really low and crackly. WHen i disconnect the mixer from my soundcard then plug the mixer to my speakers, i can hear the sounds fine...what is going on?

computer level? software level? keep phuckin around until you get it.
