ok.. ok.. OKAY. lol it was a harsh indictment... i'm really conflicted on how to feel about MPC and some days it comes out in the worst ways. The tactility of the mpc is nice, but we can get that from so many things.

I also never wanted to go back to a laptop or pc either but its hard to say no when my results are exponentially better. Not that it would be for every person who chooses that route. I still love it for certain things like synthesis, or sound design. creating messed up sounds, it does that real well, but heck i dont need to outline anything thats wrong with it because we all already know the laundry list of issues and that right there is enough to turn me off it as my primary work space.

Enough is enough of that, i cant be dickin around trying to figure out bugs and work around quirks when im trying to flesh out my ideas. Thats going out of my way to get varying results i'm simply not happy with.

I need to be able to sit down, hit record play my bit and slap a bow on it, what we are dealing with isnt a stable studio environment. Its highly unstable and what reasons do i need other than that? No amount of akai brainwashing and plugin shilling is going to make it so i can just sit down and lace tracks without encountering one of the 1000 issues. Plus the touch screen is hell on earth. Its one of the most unintuitive things i have ever laid hands on as a computer user or audio guy lol.

If you were a graphic artist and your sketch pad kept glyphing, mangling your art and doing weird stuff would that be ok with you? No because you could see it manifesting in your art. I can see it manifesting in my art and its become a problem. It's holding me back from producing music in a timely manner before i lose the whole vibe of what im playing diverging into menus and work-arounds.

Aint nobody got time fo dat. Hell, just roll the ampex lets do this old school.. still quicker.. most of us (i am assuming) probably own a couple synths and processors and crap, what we really need is a stable place to record and track that crap out without the thing running outta ram, or losing scope of its data... im ok with a four track if thats what it takes to set up a good work flow that wont fail on me mid project.

I give these scathing reviews because they are honest ideas from an analytical user. I have no personal attachment to that company or their products but at least I know when they read what I say it makes a difference. being a yes-man doesnt help the devs figure out where things are going bad for them if the users only tell them how great it is.

Imagine this, you get an advance from the label. you either buy your gear or pay the studio.. say you pay $12k to get into the studio for one week. You spend 1/3 of your time fighting the gear, how much money did you just lose? That's not ok...

I have no years let alone decade long experience with an MPC. I got an MPC One but the last iterations of 2.x did so often crash that I put the machine aside. Funny enough the last beta only crashed once for me.

Anyway, forgive my stupid question: which removal or changes (besides the programs) affect you live performance in a negative way?

Hey, how long did AIR take to respond to your ticket? I put one in a few days ago because their stupid pay system automatically sent the VSTs to the wrong email when I paid with Google Pay.

I originally put my support ticket in on the 29th, but I accidentally closed out the ticket on the 2nd (while checking to see if I had received a response). I created another ticket on the 2nd; received a response on the 3rd.

Thanks, they just got back to me an hour ago and transferred the VSTs.
