Yes, nearly didn't allow that post through as I suspected it's either Akai or whichever third party they got to create the expansion for them. We'll see

OPx-4 has no sequencer or arpeggiator so the movement within the presets is achieved using LFOs, pitch envelopes, looped operator envelopes and creative use of the modulation matrix. In some presets re-striking the same note will cause different pitches to play thanks to the Note Counter; try Taidana Gogo, Renewed Blip, etc.

The results are unexpected loops that are easy to interact with and customize to your tracks.

Lol… this sounds like a copy/paste from a marketing statement. But yeah, Pro Motion is bad ass. Easily one of the coolest plugin Expansions so far.

It's difficult when people insult without a defense. I've acquired two of the three and intend to add the opx-4 expansion today. If you don't like it, just don't buy it.Insta pro

Hi
I'm trying to activate these preset in the Mpc One. I put the Mpc One in controller mode it works fine, can see pads being triggered in Mpc Beats. But my sd card is not mounted on the mac. I read somewhere that mounting SD card is not supported on the Mpc One but then again it works at a later date. So how I can mount the Sd and get these presets working in standalone? any advice?

The expansions definitely work via standalone. I'm also pretty sure you can mount your SD in the MPC One. You will need to follow the instruction doc that come with the expansion via your InMusic account. You can then copy the files from your Mac to the SD in the MPC. Once there, you should be able to back out of the factory presets and find them in the preset browser.

You have to 1. Make sure Pro Motion is activated and registered in your InMusic account and shows up in your registered products, then make sure you install the Expansion on your SD Card (in Controller Mode is easiest) in a folder called "Expansions". Then safely software eject your SD Card from your computer before going back into Standalone mode, then 2. go into Preferences, Activations, make sure you are logged in to your InMusic account and you're on WiFi (or wired Internet if your MPC One is a first-gen model), then create an instance of OPx-4, go into your Presets, back navigate to the root, and you should see it appear as an option at the bottom of the list. When you select it, it will "call home" once to activate, and you should be right as rain. Good luck!

That's a great guide, man! The only thing you left out was the very end where Expansions like "Pro Motion" will call home once when you first try to open a preset from it, so your MPC should be online and you should be logged into your InMusic account. Otherwise, well done! Forgot how convenient the InMusic Software manager is. :worthy:

thanks for the tip! Now I'm having some issue mounting my MPC one sd card on my mac. The Mpc one isn't connected to ethernet, would need to run a cable for that though, I will try after getting the SD card recognized on my mac and add the preset folders to op4-x presets folder. Will write back with results.

Yes it's Exfat formatted. Normally it works but recently I've been having issues mounting it. I just did sudo pkill -f fsck and now backing up the sd card and if needed reformat the card. This is the 2nd time it happens, really don't know why. I originally formatted the sd card on the akai itself and saw that it was NTFS exfat. So maybe now I try to format ExFat on the mac, hopefully less issues in future. Any advice on this? I#m going need more time backing up 521GB sd though.

My advice is: you need to eliminate the possibility that your SD Card has gone bad or your USB cable has gone bad. Get another (preferably new or one known to work fine), format in ExFAT, put your data on it, and see if it works fine. Do the same with the USB cable after you try a new SD Card. If it does work, then it's your (current) SD Card that's gone bad (or perhaps got corrupt) or USB cable. If it doesn't work, then it's something with the MPC.
