BTW, I did manage to brick my MPC One a few months back, my fault as I got sloppy and made a bad edit in the image file, but it was really easy to fix as it automatically went into 'update mode', so just needed to connect the MPC to computer via USB and re-flash with the official firmware via the PC/Mac updater app. Can;t guarantee this will always happen, in some cases you might need to know the button combo to force update mode (which varies for each model)

I've successfully updated my live with the modified 3.41 update.
SSH is working.
Thanks again

@Saiasan - Is there any chance you can share the image? I'm on a Mac and began the process of following the SSH instructions PDf, only to realize that I'm not up to the task.

Yes, although you might need to use a different app to initially decompresss the img file as there's some erroneous data at the end of the file that mpcimg cannot deal with. So transfer the img over to linux and use 7zip to decompressCode: Select all7z e mpc3.4-update.img
If not using TheKikGen's mpcimg utility, how would you rebuild/compress the img file after making the edits?

mpcimg is fine for rebuilding, it only fails when decompressing.

Heard, but I was asking specifically how you rebuild the archive without mpcimg

I guess just open it up in a text editor and have a look at what it's doing. I assume it's just mostly doing standard compression plus some additional mpc related stuff (adding MPC hardware identifiers etc).
