I found you could have exactly the same loading samples on a drum track.
So it makes sense they removed it.

The clip program has a unique feature that allowed it to play a sample quantised per bar during playback. There is no such feature at the moment. Clip programs worked similarily to ableton clips and it is pretty much a great feature to have

Clips on the Force works the way & you also play them in Legato Mode, which I don't know if the MPC clips can do that. This why I think the removed it to bring in the Force clip-matrix which more is versatile since it's not restricted to just audio clips.

Can't you quantize samples in sample edit and then use them on a drum track on MPC, quantized to bars with trackmute or padmute in TC mode?

No clips anymore. Not a bug, purposely removed it would seem.

They throw my MPC in the trash

@ Terea

Just put your samples in a drum track, quantize the Pad mute TC to Bar and use Pad Mute, you have the same results as Clip mode.

Not the same but nice one
On another note the 8 audio/plugin limit is killing my workflow that’s why i prefer using the HAKAI version..
Hoping AKAI lifts that barrier..

How many plugin instances can you get with HAKAI?

Now i’m running 12 audio inputs tracks (DSI Tempest) 2 audio tracks (like 2 DJ decks tracks) with FX on each and 9 audio plugins (1 Jura,2 Hype,1 Mini D,1 Bassline, 1 OPx-4, 1 Stage EP, 1 Stage piano, 1 Odyssey) playing all at once and nearly hit 75% on the CPU..I’ll keep loading more plugins and FX until i hit the limit and report back…

Is this on a 2 or 4GB MPC?

Thank you.

I tested and it's not the same thing.
I'm going to sell this and try an Octatrack.
Akai never again...

MPC Live I on 2Gigs..Correction on the CPU..sometimes spikes at 75%
Nevertheless it’s quite impressive with only 2gigs of RAM running all these..

That's really nice for only 2GBs.
What do you think about the guy that's selling the 4GB RAM update?
Would that be something you would do? Or is it not worth it?

If money is no option, then it's absolutely worth it. If you've ever used the Key 61 or MPC X SE, you'll find that sample-heavy plugins load slightly faster and take up much less memory (meaning you can have more instances). Don't know if that would have much bearing on the HAIKAI hacks, since plugins are mostly CPU limited. Slightly off-topic but also related: I really wish Akai would stick with 4 GB RAM as a minimum (say on the MPC One) and go up to 8 GB of RAM for the Live/X/Key series. I'd pay extra for that!

You can take this even further with the HAKAI version if you let’s say own a 32in/outs interface like the Behringer X32 Compact and run it’s own plugins on each of the 32 channels while loading MPC’s plugins…Please someone tries this!!!
Dev on HAKAI FB page posted it’s releasing soon version 3.4.1 with 8 audio/plugins barrier disabled! Will try this also..

Why not the same thing?
I used Clip mode but then I discovered I could use drum track and I preferred it, it's more flexible.
What's missing on a drum track for you?
