Why that change ? Was it even requested ? It annoys me... But maybe I'm not understanding its benefit ?

Any workaround - besides copying an empty sequence to the one to clear ?

Maybe they expect you to use the same program across all seqs & it a way to save time but they should make saving the name optional.

I don't understand your sentence... Same programs across all sequences is the MPC 3 way - so sure... But how does that imply usefulness for optional naming ?

I meant maybe they "aspect" you to use the same track names across all seqs, so when you copy a seq the names would be the same even if you cleared a seq & wanted to record new parts on that same seq again the track names would remain as way to save time from having to name them the same name as the first seq.

I was saying that they should at lease give you the option to clear the track names when you clear a seq as both ways can be useful. It also seems like they aspect people to only work on 1 beat per project where keeping the tracks names the same would kinda make sense. Hopefully they make & live gig mode or something like that.

I used Clip mode but then I discovered I could use drum track and I preferred it, it's more flexible.
What's missing on a drum track for you?

What about those who don’t use samples? I’m only using instruments and midi data; clip mode was nice in its Ableton-style. Everyone keeps questioning HAKAI’s need to exist these days with MPC 3.0 out, but I don’t see how the arranger mode somehow replaces clip modes, it’s not at all the same workflow.

The removal of audio clips is a downgrade, period. It would be like IF AKAI removed patched phrases because most users are not even aware it exists...

It's the fact that they haven't even acknowledged removal of clips, they're just 'gone', and tough luck if you used them, you're not even worthy of any kind of explanation or statement on the matter.

And patch phrase, yes, that feature just doesn't work properly, it needs to add some release at the end of each chop to avoid clicks and choppiness. Pretty sure MPC1000 patch phrases worked really well (due to the added release).

Yeah that's some cold hearted shit, even from the the Mysterious Red Ninja Clan. But if they're merging the 2 platforms maybe they took out MPC clips to replace it the more versatile Force clips & the clip-matrix & hopefully the Force Navigation view to get a birds eye view of the whole project to quickly move around to other spots.
