Analog Dreams 'is a heavy plugin, there's no denying that'

The base presets for theses plug-ins are decent enough but what really makes them glow is the motion control and the assignable aftertouch. I never really used MPC much for aftertouch before but these plugs make it dead simple to assign aftertouch to a pad and in many different ways.

Now that I ponder about it, I don't believe there is another way to assign all the different aftertouch options the way the NI plugs do. Other than macros, I don't think there is an easy way to make as a expressive patch. For me, the aftertouch options alone are worth the price of admission.

KEYGROUP track > TRACK EDT > MOD MATRIX

Keygroup instruments in MPC3 now feature a 32 step mod matrix and you can easily assign aftertouch to any parameter you wish in any keygroup program including autosampled instruments.This is in addition to all the other new features (unison, harmonizer, additional LFOs, envs and filters etc).

If you are loading an older keygroup made in MPC2, make sure you disable the LEGACY button at the top of the screen to reveal the new features.

There's nothing in this post or elsewhere that would indicate that Akai & Air would end their partnership. If anything, Akai working NI seems to indicate that Akai is open to working with more outside companies in the future, which wouldn't be the first plugins to do this (Odyssey was made by Wayoutware). Maybe it something that has to do with how OS3.0 is constructed & some new potential capabilities of the desktop software.

Actually I forgot that Inmusic owned AIR Instruments; so I was just having random thoughts based on seeing how people are swept up in the hype of having NI sounds on MPC.

So was thinking the Akai marketing guys would likely prioritize NI instruments and sounds coming to MPC; rather then persuing further offerings from AIR insturments as hype sells, so the NI stuff might become their focus.

That make sense & I forgot inMusic also owns WayOutWare.

I wish they would let us customize of our own plugins using the current ones as templates but we could add or takes things like filters, oscillator, FX & change the skin with our own designs. This could lead to a market for synth packs.

OK. I understand how this would be misleading. NI is just saying these are not based off any NI code.

You'll have to take my word for it, but the Play instruments on MPC have nothing to do with Fabric. Not that it matters much anyway.

He was comparing the way the plug-in works. Don't see what you think he was getting wrong here

I'm just saying that these plugins are NOT a re-purposed Fabric.

does it really matter if it's based off of your code or air code or anyones ? bottom line is it's just another in house sample playback engine and definitely not NI kontakt which is what 90% of people were arguing about.

You're the only who took his comparison as a fact. Lack of reading compression is another modern internet disease.
