welp, seems like Force users got the best of the updates.

this Beta software seem like just a skin job; and minor alterations, seem like currently u cant even see the arranger view in the software.

Akai are just slow and cumbersome with how they deal with progressing the software;

Hardware is the root of Akai; so its all about the new hardware, as thats the only thing that really gets people excited.

the software side of things has been very hit and miss

The Force was also ahead on many things for years.

This new MPC update is first time both unit had been on the same OS version at the same time. This update looks like they just put out whatever just to keep their deadline promise. Summer ain't even start yet but Akai is bringing da heat like Miami.

Akai aint bringing no heat; until that new hardware gets announced.

"Bringing" is a on going thing. Considering everything they added just from last year til now, especially after the Force update last week, I have to disagree with you.

New hardware is cool but isn't necessary at the moment. Fixing bugs & adding new features like Stem & 3rd party companies like NI to the current gen is appreciated.

One solution would be to open source the whole thing. Other would be to modularize it, maintain the core and open the rest to third party apps and plugins. None of them is going to happen. It's a nice toy, but the software will always be unfinished and buggy.

I would suggest that 2.15.x OS was finished and did not feel buggy or error prone; but it took a decade to get to that level.

However I was happy with the software back in 2017, cos I am a cave man user and am not someone who uses the live in an intricate way.

I find it odd that mpc 3.0 software has all these bugs in it; cos I would presume that the MPC 3.0 software would of been based upon a bug free Force software that they have been developing for years.

The software is not too big for one company; Akai just need to invest more in software dev, simple.

Native Instrumens excel in sounds and instruments; but they flopped the maschine dev progress after 2.0, and fumbled their market lead massively

"Native Instruments excel in sounds and instruments" that Mostly Strives in a Desktop Environment. NI lacks in the Hardware Department, Akai Lacks in the Desktop Environment.

They'll never pull a decent experience competing with DAWs refined for decades. Struggling to implement VST 3 compatibility in 2025 etc. To me that's a waist of time and ressource. MPC 3 software should only be a basic VST to be loaded in a proper DAW, plus some export features. Basically just like Elektron Overbridge. Everything else is nonsense.
