Has it been two weeks already? Maybe more. I'm starting to get the hang of certain things. Some observations/comments/questions.
a) Touchscreen editing in grid mode with fingers is whack (not easy). I got some touchscreen styli (10 for $5 on Amazon) and those work much better. Even still, I have to zoom way in on a single event sometimes in order to delete it.
b) I think the step sequencer records in even 16ths regardless of the TC settings.
c) When triggering drum sounds using the pads, I often cut off the initial sound by what I think is a finger bounce, the second of which is very soft and actually does trigger the sound again, cutting off the first one. With more deliberate technique (either pull up completely after the first hit, or press down to suppress the bounce) it is cleaner.
d) Sometimes when recording over a rhythm (percussion) loop, my sense of where "1" is is incorrect. I've recorded a nice loop but it begins on 2. Or 3 and a half. I'd like to be able to trim/rotate the MIDI events in such a case but I can't figure out how to get the loop marker to snap to less than 1 bar. I can go back to grid mode and drag the box but that has its own set of problems.
It would be cool if there was something analogous to Ableton's "Consolidate Time to Scene" where I could trim out some number of beats, starting anywhere, and create a new sequence with them. I guess the "Copy Bars/Events" is that feature, it's just bizarre the way it's implemented because you don't highlight what you want while you're looking at it. You have to take a mental note and then go into the "Edit Sequence" dialog.
Cheers,
