Looping Pads (LOOP always equals Sample START)

I wonder what the LOOP parameter is used for? Whenever I change it, the SAMPLE START gets set the same value.

How can I play a sample from the start, but loop a different section?

In SAMPLE EDIT turn off 'LOOP LOCK', you'll now be able to adjust the separate blue loop point. In TRACK EDIT > SAMPLES you can disable it via the gear icon.

Because I remembered that it worked before. Now that LOOP LOCK was new to me.
