look, i was engineering a CD for a pal, he died...he left me mpc2kxl and about seven disc, I learned how to load .aps and listen to them a few weeks ago....he had many tracks, ive listened to them. I figured i wouldnt progress any unless i bought my own zip disc and started myself. so i made my first on and saved it JUST LIKE THE MANUAL SAID. Now this morning any of the disc i put in and load the SAME WAY i have done before but now when i hit play i get NOTHING, the sounds are all one the pads but it say every sequence on every disc is unused...it wasnt this way in the past....all i wanna know is what i could have done to **** up those old tracks of his....do you understand now?

Forgot to save the SEQ....Saved the SEQ in a different place to where u think u did....It can happen

If you got the hits/samples make it again, or something else.... Losing beats is all part of the learning curve. Next time round u wont let a hi hat slip let alone a beat

Practice loading and saving a quick 2bar loop...Get into the routine of saving regularly too.....Did any1 mention the manual?? Yea, read that two. Very handy!

U must have missed something b4 bedtime

Quick and easy way....Make folders to save each song in.

Then.....Save all seq & Songs (Thats the easy way for now) - You need this so the song will play back the way u programmed

Thats part 1.....Part 2, is the sounds (You need them so u can hear your songs playback) - Save all programs & sounds - This will relaod the sounds exactly the way u layed them out on the pads

Remember to save these to the folder you made earlier entitled
(song name)

Bravo means all programs and sounds.

Ah, wasn't it great when we all had to figure this stuff out on our own and meet here for the real talk?

this smells like regurgitation. You should get tutor's 2kXL book.

are there .mid, .seq, or. all files on your friend's disks that correspond with the .aps files? there are at least two files that need to be loaded for each beat or song. one which handles the program and sound data, and one which handles the sequence data.
