Adivice as to how i can/should use my equipment?

Hi i've got a bare bones MPC2000xl with the 8outs, an sp1200 and Cubase VST 5.1(MAC) with an audio interface Motu 828(which has 8 ins/outs no midi capabilities).

Just wondering the best way i can use all of these to make songs.
Is it possible to use
-the SP1200 as my main sampler/sequencer for drums and some other sounds?
-make the MPC my main sequencer and some sampling for other sounds and general arrangement?
-use cubase for final arrangement, recording, mixing, eq and effects?

I want my songs to use the timing from the sp1200 is that possible?

U need midi for everything that u stated. Midi is going to play a big part in your connection of your equipment. Using the time of the SP1200 will be Midi, u can only have one master sequencer in the chain, everything else will be slave. The master will also be controlling timing as well..
