Dr. Foo, Please help me again................

I swear that I read the manual over and over again. I did get to link up the XP-60 and the Mo-Phatt to the MPC, but now..............


When I sounds from the Mo-Phatt, I can't record sounds from my keyboard, they stay midi-ed together.......

So, when I want to just record the piano from my keyboard, it has all these effects from the mophatt.....

yah, since the same midi cable (and all 16 channels) are sent to each device, you have to "turn off" the channels on a device so you dont hear it. example

ok, keyboard you want to play on channels 1-8 and mo phatt on 9-16. You must set the mo phatt so that the midi data coming in on channels 1-8 (meant for only the keyboard) is ignored and only channels 9-16 are accepted as midi data. (vice versa for the keyboard)
The manual for the mo phatt should tell you or emu customer support can tell you in like 5 minutes. (I dont know exactly, but it should be under the options you have for midi setup, you should either be able to silence certain midi channels altogether or assign a "blank" program that plays nothing to the channels, either way, it will acomplish the goal, eliminating "midi crosstalk" (<---thats just what I call it I dunno the 'real' name for it)

this will eliminate "double ups" of midi where you end up with the keyboard playing the correct thing and the mo phatt playing some random patch (well not random, the patch the mo phatt loads is the same one that your sequencer in telling the keyboard to play as in same bank and program changes.)

just fyi, its probably better with a midi rig like that, (with more then 1 midi device) to record midi bank select and program changes into the mpc, saves time and effort.
