which one is the best?

GDAY..im Mr Bezrock.. and im a n00b.

ive been tracking music on my pc for around a decade.. using fast tracker and buzz tracker... but im keen to finally bite the **** bullet.. and falk out on a MPC.

i know im a slacker.. but ive just got my first job ever.. so finnally got some cash coming in.

Q) What is the recommended BEST mpc to purchase?

MP 4000 1st. MP2000xl 2ed .MP3000 3ed. mp 20004th. mp60II 5th.mp60 6th. Each mpc has its own special features and most people are biassed to the one they own(i have a 2000xl) each new mp model has been upgraded soft ware wise, and hardware wise (depending on who you ask).its a very personal thing, and a lot of debate has gone on about it(please do not debate with me this is just my opinon) Some people use the 3000 because there fav producer use's one (Dr. Dre, D.J. Quick and so on) some people still use the 60 because it works well for them and they know it like the back of there hand, when using a new one would mean learning a new op system.Ask yourself what features you need the most and investigate all the mp's and go from there-PEACE!!!!

Like raven said, each model has its own specialities, its own sound, so the answer to your question depends on the kind of music that you wanna produce.
Though, I'd say that I recommend buying a 2000xl first. The 3000 it too expensive for what you really get with it and the 4000 is too close from a computer. 2000xl is the perfect compromise between technicity and intuition. Mpc 60 is also very interresting. It's very basic so you won't have the temptation to let the machine suggest you things to do. With the 60, you make sure that what you hear is the pure product of your inspiration. You have the inverse problem with the 4000.
You might also hear some people coming with that everlasting "3000 is more groovy than 2000" shit. About that, compare by yourself and make up you own mind.

yeh thanks.. i checked out the 4000 at a music store, but like you said.. it seems pointless to get it.. when you may as well operate it from the pc anyways.

i might get the 2000xl or whatever.

i pretty much just make hip-hop music.. should be all good ey!..

i think the 4000 also looks a bit scary.. kinda like the trappakit 2000 in southpark.. which turned into rosie o'donnel and took over the world!!!

If you buy a 4k and it turns into Rosie you have a REAL problem on your hands.. haha If it's your first machine, your new to the game and not a load of cash I would say a 2kxl.. It's up to you..

1000 or 2kxl

mpc 1000, 2000xl.....I would suggest the 60 series used but its too many headaches if you dont have the Linn upgrade....
