mpc echos when i hit the pad?

just got this thing, anybody know why when i hit the drum pad sometimes it makes the sound twice kinda like an echo?
any1 had this problem? thanks

you have to practice hitting the pads. The pads are so sensitive that you may not even notice that your finger is actually hitting it twice. Trust me, keep bangin' on 'em and you'll get the hang of it

Try using two fingers on one pad... Sometimes that helps... You have to develop a technique for hitting the pads cause they are sensitive... Also, try hitting the center of the pad... Even though the pad is a square, I believe the piece underneath is a circle and if u hit the corners of the square it can end up giving you a double hit on the circle sensor underneath...

Keep at it... It took all of us a while to get it down, but when u can control it you can use that double hit to make more complex rhythms... Definitely useful...

You may also have the sounds on poly mode put them in mono.

bottom of screen you will see poly move it to mono.

turn your pads to mono instead of poly and practice hitting the pads right. you need to lift your finger right after you hit the pad instead of resting. kinda tricky to explain but youll get used to it. no big deal

That's weird... When I press Shift+6 I get in the Program page where I can assign sounds to Programs. Never heard of a mono mode...

Get your manual out....

That page (Shift F6) leads to the drum programs, which leads to the samples in the selected program. From here, u can select the pad/sample u want o edit (via params). In the Params screen u can change the tune, filter, attack,decay, voice type (mono,poly)

Manual will make this easier to understand. Have a quick look and you'l be str8

Don't necessarily turn it to Mono... Not to knock anyone, but don't listen... You need Poly for somethings... You need Mono for somethings... You need Note Off for somethings...

When you select a sound from the program page you can then hit Parameters for that sound and choose whether you want the sound to be Mono Poly or Note Off... That's just choosing how you trigger the sound...

this may sound dumb, but it works for me.

Turn off "Full Level" and STAND UP each time you hit the pad.

Since I started doing that, Ive never had a problem with double-hits.

Me and ElMac call it "Pad Fu".
