Song Mode muting question

ok, i know you can't record song mutes in the song mode...how do you set up the sequences before hand to do so....ive been trying to do it under the edit screen but it only has options for copies, transpose,ect... how do i delete certain snares?

There should be a button that says erase under it. It erases.

No. Just press erase. It's by play and all that.

well, yeah, i know where the button is but are there any other steps involved? just go to the track i wanna edit. press play. when it comes to that note hit erase??? sounds a little too easy for the MPC

I don't really use song mode that much. Just use next sequence. I don't record songs much either so maybe I'd use it more if I needed.

u can use real-time erase
(while the sequencer is playing, hold erase and right before the sound you want to erase begins hold down that pad to erase THAT sound)

u can use non real-time erase

Sequence mode if for editing sequences. Read the manual.

Just mute the damn track. Why erase it? Just make copies of your sequence and mute different parts in each, string em up in song mode, and be done.
