Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I've got my mpc running into my computer so that i can hear my song out of the computer speakers. Apparently, the sounds coming in are too loud because in pre-record mode, the levels are shown as too high, and the top of the meter says 'CLIP' in red letters. Which basically means, it will sound like garbage if i keep it. Can someone help me regulate the levels.

what kind of soundcard do you have? Is it the stock integrated soundcard? The one with a 1/8" input?

The easy way to fix it is to turn the master volume down on the mpc. That way it's not peakin'.Or you can go into your soundcard and turn the volume down on whatever line you're recordin' into.LIne in or mic or whatever.

you mean to tell me that you are clipping and you didnt think to turn the flowers volume down before posting this question?

Wouldnt that be the FIRST thing you try?

yo tictoc, that is toooo much detail for the new world producers but turning down the volume does sound logical. :D :D
