making bass soung better

i was wondering if anyone could lend any tips as to how to make their bass lines sound better. mine seem to sound out of place and im not getting the sound i want ( it seems to make an annoying when all i really want is the bass effect). thanks for the help

Try playing around with the filter and resonance.

try to add compression to tighten/smooth`n youre basslines

You can also other equipment/programs/plugins to color your bass to get it just the way you want cause MPC2k/2kxl is limited in that type of way..
