problems loading sounds on 60II

i threw some sounds on a floppy disc from my comp for my 60II but it says that it is not formatted right or formatted by something else, being my comp, if i format the disk on the 60 then my computer wont read it..

am i missing something hurr?

i have used wavsnd to convert my waves before i threw them on the disk, when wavsnd converts a wav should it still say clap.wav or clap.snd? cus when i convert it it still says .wav, jus curious about that.

my os is 3.10a on the 60II.

Use the MPC editor, it works much better, and use a 60 formatted floppy, a PC format won't work well.

it must be that i dont have xp, because my comp wont read mpc60II formatted disks, i run windows 2000 on the comp.

try the editor, it doesn't need to read them just write to them.

got an error, took it out an re-formatted it on the 60 again just incase an got the same error when i try to write to the disk with mpc editor.

its beyond me..

besides that, you know elmacaco i had this 60 for over a year sitting on the floor in the corner of my room. i didnt know alot about it, an it looked old (it looks like its been around) so i never **** with it. i had been mastering fruity loops for years, and just recently i bought a 2kxl and got interested in the 60 after joining these forums an realizing what i had.

do you have 3.10 OS?

If so, format a floppy in the 60, then pop it in your computer once you have the MPC editor ready to export, export the PGM and samples in 3000 format, and save it to the floppy.

Also, make sure you have the latest mpc editor, the old ones were before the 60 fixes. Also, you're floppy drive could be dirty, get a cleaning disk from radio shack and follow the directions, only do the cleaning many times.

i tried it just as you said an still got the same prolems, i have mpc editor v3, thats new enough right?

that cleaning disk shit might be the move, i gotta hit the store for floppies later anyhow, so ima check that out.

Wow, 3.10a, I have 3.10e, I always wondered where those earlier os's went. I've only heard reports of 3.03, which leaves out a few cool things. I don't think the OS is at fault, but you might want to email roger linn and see what the changes were from 3.10a to 3.10e, maybe it has something to do with importing 3000 sounds?

How do u tell which OS 3.10 u have??? I was under the misguided impression that they were all the same. Part 2 of my question, anybody know if the 60 can read all .snd files??? I know that the later MPCs have a proprietary format but I was not sure if they used .snd like the 60 and 3000. Any help appreciated. Uno

When you start up, it will say your OS, 2.xx or 3.XXy, y bieng the letter of the upgrade.

I use the MPC editor to change 2000 SND files to 60 format once, and never again, but it works.

I'm having the same problem as Rock...can't get sounds from my computer into my mpc60 via floppy successfully.
I have mpc software 3.10 and Mpc Pgm Maker on my Mac.
Any solutions yet anyone?
