How do you use the Mpc as a midi controller

i have my mp 2000xl hooked up to reason in pt. is there any particular order of notes with the pads. i mean how do the notes coinside with the padslike i have a really high note next to a really low note. is there anyway i can make it so i hit a pad then the next one to the right is the next note. for example pad 1 c pad2 c#?

There is a tutorial here somewhere that has the listings of the pads and thier midi note numbers. You can always get a midi snooping program that will tell you when you hit each pad. On the Mac, Midi Pipe and Midi Monitor do that.
